[OBDF 310] 2D Parametric Design

2D Parametric drawing in Grasshopper

For this assignment I developed a definition for a 2D parametric design in Grasshopper.

By altering the parametric values in my definition, I generated three (3) unique versions of the design. I 'baked' the designs into Rhino and prepared them for the laser cutter. Below are screenshots of my process.

[OBDF 310] My first definition

New year, new semester, new software!

This semester I'll be journaling projects for my OBDF 310: Algorithmic and Parametric Object Design class at Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts).

For my first foray into Grasshopper 3D, I watched and followed along with Grasshopper Basics with David Rutten. Below are screenshots of exercises I completed for tutorials 1-8.

1) Interface Basics

2) Multiple Components

3) Refining a Definition

4) Basics (Q & A)

5) Creating Biarcs

6) Displaying the Definition with Colour

7) Multiple Curves in GH

8) Creating components with Custom Default
